People you love, people that truly love you - they'll let you down. It's sad. It's sick. It hurts. Does that mean we should give up on them?
No.
Because, you see, we're all sick, pathetic. Except for God's amazing grace, that's all we'd ever be. After all, how many times have I let God, others, and myself down? I'm no better than anyone else, especially those I criticize. God doesn't love me more, or less, than anyone else.
Humans aren't perfect. Christians aren't perfect, either. So why should we expect each other to be? I'll have the privilege of asking God one day when I see Him face to face. For now, I guess I just have to accept it.
At the end of the day, God is waiting with His arms open wide, no matter what we've done or what we're going through.
...I wish that I had God's forgiveness and understanding...but I'm human, just like you.

How many times have I been let down by others? How many times have I let others down? How many times have I thought "I'm just pathetic"? How many times have I wished to be "perfect"?

Trust doesn't come easy for me. It's hard for me to depend on someone else.
As for "learning to love", I'm ready and willing :)
The reason why we hurt precisely those who care about us, is because they are the only ones we actually can hurt.
ReplyDeleteNo, we arent perfect, but often I find myself asking whether that has just become an excuse.
I am just human. Well, if you have the ability to understand that, then what stops you from becoming something greater? Those four words, to me, seem as an excuse. An excuse to be ignorant, to be cruel, to hurt, to lie, to deceive... An excuse for everything. Even an excuse to make up excuses.
